Welcome to Andrew's website

Welcome to Andrew's website. Here you'll find a few resources, some of which may even be useful. The latest updates to this website are listed below, or you can get around using the navigation bar to the right.

For the interested, the photo at the top of this page is a view of World Showcase at Epcot, Walt Disney World, taken by myself in October 2006.

What's new?

New and updated stuff is usually described here.

Spam, spam and more spam

January 27, 2008
I'm currently noticing that I'm getting a lot of bounced messages that have been sent to various email addresses supposedly originating from addresses @andrewpoole.org.uk. These messages are not being sent by myself or any machine belonging to me, they're being sent from elsewhere. Annoying. There's nothing I can do about it, either.

I've removed the catchall from my email config, so I won't see the bounce messages any more, however that of course doesn't stop the messages being sent out in the first place. Sigh.

Searchy 1.70

January 13, 2008
Searchy logoSearchy 1.70 was released last night. It contains some fixes for the advanced search dialogue, window handling, and now has a shiny new icon as seen here.

The new version can be downloaded from the Searchy pages on this site.

On a related(ish) note, Jasmine 0.02 was released a few days ago as your regular desktop silly.

It's Christmas!

December 24, 2007
It's that time of year again, folks. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you.

New site design!

December 2007
Update: For those wondering, I've decided to remove the pages I made during my time at Walt Disney World in 2006. The photos are still available on the photos page, and the videos will be available again soon.

For those counting, this is version 13 of my website. And it's no longer called andrewpoole.org.uk. This is mainly because other domains also point here, so it's not entirely correct any more. It's also the first version of my website to use a purely CSS layout. Normally, I'd use tables primarily so that the site would work in RISC OS browsers however since I haven't used a RISC OS machine for my primary desktop computer for at least a year I decided to go all-out and create a CSS based layout. I see no reason why it shouldn't work in NetSurf though and a quick check whilst designing it did seem to work fine. If you're viewing this in anything else on RISC OS, chances are it'll look nothing like it should. The solution to this is to download NetSurf and use that instead. Of course, any standards compliant web browser should work - theoretically
